Leeds fans are calling for Pontus Jansson to replace Liam Cooper as captain after the big Swede was named captain for Sweden’s friendly against Romania.
It’s been a torrid few months at Elland Road, and fans are fast losing patience with the current crop of players. What will be even more infuriating to fans than the lack of quality in the squad is the apparent lack of a spine.
More often than not when the going gets tough, Leeds fold. Club legend Eddie Gray suggested yesterday that the solution to this could be to bring in more seasoned Championship players, but fans are now feeling maybe a change of leadership is in order.

Pontus Jansson has been named captain for Sweden’s friendly against Romania, and several fans have expressed their desire to see the 27 year-old get the armband at Leeds.
Cooper was made permanent captain when Sol Bamba left the club, and the 26 year-old hasn’t exactly endeared himself to fans this season. He is currently out injured after picking up a dead leg running into his own teammate against Wolves.
Jansson has himself been criticised for going into hiding this season, but having the armband could bring out the best of the Swede.
