Leeds United’s season has gone off the rails in recent weeks.
The Whites have won just once since the turn of the year, and it should come as no surprise that their grip on the top two has significantly loosened during this time.
The Yorkshire club now remain second by virtue of goal difference, despite having an 11-point lead over third-place a few weeks ago.
Unfortunately, things don’t get much easier for Leeds as their next game is against high-flying Brentford, who are undoubtedly the form team in the division.

The Bees have picked up more points than any other side in the division over the past ten games, and they’ve lost just once in that period.
It’s a tough task for Leeds, but if they manage to win, it could be the catalyst for resurrecting their season.
Not only would the squad get a huge mental boost from beating one of the Championship’s best sides away from home, but a lot of their concerns will be alleviated if Kalvin Phillips comes back and makes an immediate difference.
The Yorkshire Pirlo has been missing for Leeds’ last three games, and during that time they’ve picked up just three points.
The defensive midfielder has been hailed as the best player in the Championship and valued at £30m so if he comes back and makes the impact we know he can it will settle the nerves amongst the squad. Consequently, they will know they’re in a much stronger position with Phillips available for selection.
They can chalk some of their recent woes down to being without their talisman and move forward as the strong unit that dominated the division for the first half of the season.
Phillips’ re-introduction could breathe new life into this dwindling squad, and if the Elland Road outfit can get the better of the Bees it may see Marcelo Bielsa’s side get their season back on track.
