When Marco Silva was appointed as Sam Allardyce’s successor, most Everton fans were delighted.
The 41-year-old completed some decent transfer activity in the summer, bringing in the likes of Bernard, Richarlison, Andre Gomes and Yerry Mina.
On the pitch, though, the results have been inconsistent as they have picked up just three wins from eight Premier League matches.
There was also disappointment in the EFL Cup when the Toffees were beaten by Southampton on penalties.
Silva, who according to the Liverpool Echo earns £3m a year, came under fire from some fans for fielding a weakened team and throwing away the club’s chance of realistic silverware.
As it stands, Everton are 11th in the league standings, six points off the top five following last weekend’s 2-1 victory over Leicester City.

In a piece for inews, journalist Daniel Storey sparked a discussion about whether Silva will stick it out long term at Goodison Park.
The Portuguese coach has moved his way up the football ladder over the years, going from Hull City to Watford and now Everton, so it raises the question of whether he will be on Merseyside for years to come.
Some Everton supporters posted their thoughts on Reddit.
Comment from discussion “Marco Silva, a manager with a reputation for short-termism, has taken on a long-term job at Everton – does he (and the club) have the patience to see it out?” – Daniel Storey.Comment from discussion “Marco Silva, a manager with a reputation for short-termism, has taken on a long-term job at Everton – does he (and the club) have the patience to see it out?” – Daniel Storey.Comment from discussion “Marco Silva, a manager with a reputation for short-termism, has taken on a long-term job at Everton – does he (and the club) have the patience to see it out?” – Daniel Storey.Comment from discussion “Marco Silva, a manager with a reputation for short-termism, has taken on a long-term job at Everton – does he (and the club) have the patience to see it out?” – Daniel Storey.Comment from discussion “Marco Silva, a manager with a reputation for short-termism, has taken on a long-term job at Everton – does he (and the club) have the patience to see it out?” – Daniel Storey.Comment from discussion “Marco Silva, a manager with a reputation for short-termism, has taken on a long-term job at Everton – does he (and the club) have the patience to see it out?” – Daniel Storey.Comment from discussion “Marco Silva, a manager with a reputation for short-termism, has taken on a long-term job at Everton – does he (and the club) have the patience to see it out?” – Daniel Storey.
