New Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini is set to start a summer clear out by listening to offers for Brazilian right back Maicon, according to the Daily Mail.
Maicon joined City 12 months ago from Inter Milan for £3million but quickly became a back-up player with Pablo Zabaleta continuing his inspiring form.
England full back Micah Richards is now fit too leaving the Brazil international third choice at the Etihad stadium and looking for a new club as Pellegrini wants to cut all the deadwood in order to trim the wage bill and form his own squad after replacing Roberto Mancini.
Maicon is on £100,000 per week and is no longer needed along with a number of squad players including Gareth Barry, Aleksander Kolarov, Edin Dzeko and James Milner.
Pellegrini has already added some new signings to his squad but after Carlos Tevez’s departure last week, the Chilean wants to sign at least two more forwards.
