Thursday 9th May 2019 marks a sad day for Palace fans and for Julian Speroni, as the goalkeeper announced his exit at the end of the season after almost 15 years at Selhurst Park.
The Argentine made 405 appearances for the Eagles – the most for a goalkeeper in the club’s history – keeping an incredible 112 clean sheets, with his 90 minutes in the FA Cup victory over Spurs set to be his last professional appearance for the south London outfit.
The 39-year-old was recently recognised with the Chairman’s Outstanding Contribution award for his service to the red and blue and leaves with legend status and plenty to be proud of.

He was crucial in Palace’s promotion to the Premier League in 2013 as he kept clean sheets in both legs of the play-off semi-final and then in the final against Watford – for that alone, Eagles fans will never forget what he did for the club.
The Selhurst Park faithful on Twitter were quick to request that he start against Bournemouth on Sunday in light of the news.
