Rotating his full-back-come-wing-back options has been a recurring tactic for Mauricio Pochettino this season. That’s partly because the full-backs are so vital to the way Tottenham play, and partly because there’s such a huge physical demand placed on defensive wide-men in the modern game.
Accordingly though, that leaves Pochettino with a big decision to make for practically every game – having to determine which of his full-backs is most suitable for the opposition. While Danny Rose’s injury has alleviated that headache on the left, he still has Serge Aurier and Kieran Trippier to choose from for the No.2 berth.
Earlier this week, we passed that responsibility over to Tottenham supporters – asking them whether the Ivory Coast international or the three-cap England man should start against Southampton on Sunday. And the former – who Transfermarkt value at £18million – won our poll with an impressive 71% of the vote.
