Aston Villa fans have been discussing the possible return of Jonathan Kodjia, and most are in agreement to save him for the playoffs.
You’d be hard pushed to find another player that has had two debut seasons in the Championship quite like Jonathan Kodjia, scoring 19 league goals in his first season with Bristol City before achieving the exact same tally in his first season at Villa Park.
The towering striker missed the first part of this season through ankle injury though, and only managed one goal on his return before needing further ankle surgery in November.
Villa are currently fourth, safe in the playoff places but seven points behind an automatic promotion spot, meaning it is almost definite that the side will be in the playoffs this year.
They travel to Hull this weekend, and after playing a few friendlies behind closed doors Kodjia could be available for a spot on the bench.
Fans aren’t keen to take any chances though, hoping the Ivory Coast international can wait for full fitness and then fire them back to the Premier League.
Some of the best Twitter reactions to Kodjia’s impending return can be seen below…
